Forbes Road
Completed in 1758, Forbes Road is a significant historical military route in Pennsylvania, stretching from Carlisle to the Forks of the Ohio River, now known as Pittsburgh. The road traverses notable locations such as Fort Loudon, Fort Lyttleton, Fort Bedford, and Fort Ligonier.

Originally named the Raystown Path and the Old Trading Path, Forbes Road underwent improvements and widening under the supervision of British Brigadier General John Forbes during the French and Indian War. Seeking to reduce travel time compared to Braddock's established road, Forbes constructed a new route leading directly west to Fort Duquesne.

En route to Fort Duquesne, Forbes Road passes through the borough of Everett. A historical marker commemorating Forbes Road can be found near Everett, Pennsylvania, specifically in Bedford County. Positioned on Lincoln Highway (U.S. 30), the marker is located 0.3 miles west of Dell Road.
